A very simple trick to give your lace up shoes/sneakers a new lease of life is to replace the laces.
I discovered this out of necessity one morning when my old laces snapped on a favourite pair of shoes.
Just measure your existing lace for a guide to the length you need and then, you can use whatever takes your fancy. Just remember it needs to be able to withstand your walking about.
Fold the replacement in half for equal lacing and then thread through the shoe eyelets. When completed, tie a small knot in each end to keep lace in place and to stop fraying.
I used some cord I had but you can use ribbon, braid, lace or , well just be creative !
